FU GOP!!!!!

Guardians of Peace?  Really?

The Guardians of “Peace” have now done a victory lap by releasing another letter to Sony basically telling them (paraphrasing here):   Thanks, good job on not releasing the film.  And as long as you don’t ever show this film including the trailer, we promise not to release all the sensitive information we still have on your company. (Read the Article in Variety here).

Oh hell no!  Are you kidding me?  A victory lap?  Another threat?   I am so pissed!

  • I hope Sony realizes real fast that this is not about money and rethinks it’s actions.
  • I hope the other studios realize this is not about competition anymore and start standing by Sony instead of just watching their demise.
  • I hope the President decides to have a viewing party at the White House and invites both parties to watch.
  • I hope Sony releases the film to EVERYONE for free on EVERY SINGLE PLATFORM available.
  • And I hope every single company embraces the idea and every single American and all people around the world watch it.

I had no intention of seeing this film.  It looks ridiculous.  It isn’t my kind of film and although I respect these actors, producers, etc., for their talents in other projects, I could have cared less on so many levels about this film.  But now?  Now, this is about something else.  And it’s the only movie I want to see.

I believe we show who we really are, not when things are easy, but when things are tough (thank you Maya Angelou).  When things are hard, scary and unknowing is when WHO WE ARE matters.  The Guardians of “Peace” are messing with the one word the United States is known for:  FREEDOM.  And to that, I say FU!

I will see the movie the minute I can.  Thank YOU Guardians of “Peace”.

  1. Carmen, I share your anger and absolutely agree with everything you’ve said here. But I’m also pissed at both the serious lack of effort put forth by these big companies to secure their (our!) data AND at the years of interference from our government in the development of new encryption technologies because they feared it would limit their ability to spy on us.

Before all this happened, I had no desire whatsoever to watch a movie that, to me, amount to little more than sick, juvenile, and not-so-funny, humor. Now I gladly watch it just to show that I won’t be intimidated by some little punk who thinks he’s a leader by “Decree of the Gawds.” Of course, I’d probably sleep through the whole thing were I to watch it alone… 🙄

  2. You had me going. First I saw “FU GOP” flash across my iPad screen. Then, a few moments later, there it was on my computer’s Twitter feed. I had to look. “A political post? From Carmen???” I’d already read half the article before I had my aha moment. Guardians. Of. Peace. GOP. Ahhhhhh. 🙂 Now I get it. Now I see where you’re coming from. 🙂

      • Oh, I will. If there was ever anyone who needed to be made fun of it’s that North Korea guy.

Am I the only one who was expecting more mortal combat in this post? Fu GOP sounds like a branch of martial arts, doesn’t it? “Don’t come at me, man! I’ve got Platinum Suspenders in Fu GOP!” It could happen. Maybe it’s a cousin of Krav Maga?

You keep writing killer headlines and I promise I’ll be here. 🙂

        • Hahahaha! I’m not expecting mortal combat, or at least I wasn’t!!! Thanks! Now, I’m scared! 😉

I admit, I’m not great at “killer headlines”. Plus, I tend to write only about “Nice” stuff…simple things and never from anger. But, maybe I’m reconsidering my strategy? Maybe it’s time to unleash the “REAL” Carmen (I’m cracking up just writing that!).

I’m glad whenever you visit. I’ll try and do better so you’ll visit more often! xo!
