  1. I had a back-handed insult the other day. Someone asked me where I was born (Scottish accent, looks Viking). With great pride I told the lady that I was a Mexican American Irish hybrid (I had no idea I had Maya blood until recently). She looked at me and said, “Well, you are a beautiful woman…and you don’t look a bit Mexican”. For once I was struck dumb but later I laughed. It is going to take a long time for society to accept how mixed we really are.

    • WOW! WOW! WOW! I wish I could say I’ve never heard of such a thing, but I know you know I have! You are so right though — it’s going to take a long, long time for people to accept how mixed we are… I think everyone should get DNA testing. I think it might help people get a clue! Hugs gurl. Thanks for stopping by! So glad I found your space. :

  2. Cool!

My wife had it done and found out her father came from Iceland.

I got mostly Greek from my father and Hungarian from my mother’s mother. I often identify with fish when I go swimming, but I don’t think the DNA will go back that far into my evolutionary tail. Monkees? Yes. Fish? I don’t think so . . .

Learning something new every day. That is what keeps us all feeling young!

Good luck with your new knowledge and outlook on life!
